Career FAQs for the Military Community

Transitioning Military FAQs

When should I reach out to your team if I'm interested in joining Booz Allen?

While we encourage you to apply directly to positions of interest within 90-120 days of your end of active service (EAS) or start date availability, you can never start the networking process too early. We’d love to get to know you—explore our Military Talent Careers site, join our Talent Community, or register for an upcoming hiring event.

What programs do you offer to help support transitioning military members?

We’re committed to providing opportunities and support for transitioning military members through:

  • Hiring Our Heroes Fellowship Program: A 12-week workforce development program designed for transitioning service members and military spouses
  • Transition Center of Excellence: We provide mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities for new hires through your first year
  • Armed Services Community: This employee-led group equips our veteran, reservist, and guardsmen employees with resources and networking opportunities
Are there opportunities for military spouses and caregivers at Booz Allen?

Yes, we’re a proud leader in military spouse employment and currently employ more than 900 military spouses. We actively hire and host military spouses and caregivers through Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse fellowships and a variety of military spouse-focused hiring events, creating additional pathways to employment here.

Our Military Spouse Community (MSC) is another place where our employees can find understanding, belonging, and support. MSC advocates for initiatives that address challenges that impact military families, such as relocation assistance, career mobility, and work flexibility.

We were honored to receive the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Employment Award for our commitment to hiring military spouses. In addition, we were one of the original signatories of the 4+1 Commitment: A Formula for Military Spouse Success, aimed at tackling the 21% unemployment rate of military spouses.

What Booz Allen jobs or career areas are best aligned for the military community?

You’ll find that your experiences as a member of the military community can be applied to the work we do across Booz Allen, from defense and national security sectors to civil sectors like health, finance, and beyond. We also recognize that you have skills that make you competitive for career opportunities outside of your military expertise or that you may be charting a new career. We encourage you to explore all Booz Allen has to offer

The best way to approach your job search is to identify what’s important to you in your next career move—such as the type of work that interests you, your geographical preferences, and your values. Then build a resume that speaks to those interests and your relevant skills.
