Diversity, equity and inclusion aren't just buzzwords. GLOBE+ is Booz Allen Hamilton's LGBTQIA business resource group. We look out for the experience that LGBTQIA people have at Booz Allen Hamilton. Allowing myself to be my authentic gay self at work is important because then I feel like I don't have to hide anything. Once I retired from the military, I found out that Booz Allen was rated as one of the top employers for those who identify as LGBTQ+.

Booz Allen has provided a space for me to grow. And the fact that I'm allowed to come to work, talk about the things that I do outside of work as far as being a drag performer. And now that I'm on board, I actually enjoy coming to work every day. To create the best recommendations and the best solutions for our clients, we need everyone to be their authentic self without any bias.

People are great with learning my pronouns. I have allies who will correct others if they misgender me. And when I get to work with federal-level clients, knowing that I am an immigrant and I get to bring all the experiences of my communities with me, I'm helping make sure that people don't fall through the gaps in healthcare. We come from different backgrounds, areas of expertise and creative passions. And at Booz Allen, we come together to create the GLOBE+ community.

We have created support networks and processes to lift each other up. And the firm has supported us too. You can come as you are, no matter what your background is, no matter what stage of the journey you're at. We take the time to celebrate ourselves. And the best part is we're not done yet. GLOBE+: Booz Allen’s LGBTQ+ Business Resource Group

GLOBE+ advances the professional development, growth, and visibility of LGBTQ+ employees and our allies by focusing on:

Retention through engagement and advocacy
Recruitment through pipeline partnerships
Reputation through community building
Resiliency by taking care of each other when times are tough

GLOBE+ is committed to fostering connections to advance the pursuit of equality and justice and lift up all of our intersectional identities. The group builds solidarity with networks supporting Women, African American, Latinx, and Asian and Pacific Islander communities, as well as military family and veteran groups, showcasing that GLOBE+ members come from all walks of life.

We also flex our employees’ technical expertise by supporting STEM groups like Out in Tech, Lesbians Who Tech, oSTEM, and QueerCon.

Consulting on LGBTQ+ Community Wellness

We partner with several organizations to tackle health and wellness issues facing the LGBTQ+ community, including:

Collaborating on a study on the economic impact of COVID-19 on Pride with Capital Pride
Volunteering to support LGBTQ+ youth struggling with identity, coming out, depression, and suicide with the Trevor Project
Building capacity and development strategy, and sponsoring Walk to End HIV with Whitman Walker Health
Exhibiting the AIDS Quilt annually in corporate headquarters through The Names Project
