The newest center of skilled cyber work will soon be located deep in the heart of Texas. Growing Booz Allen teams in San Antonio and Austin are joining together to form our first Cyber Center of Excellence. Their mission: Drive our firm’s pioneering cyber agenda, beginning with the established Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) contract for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). “This exciting contract will act as a springboard to bring talented cyber professionals together in Texas,” says Cyber Integrations and Operations Lead Rob Stonaker. “Members of our team will have the chance to provide innovative and advanced cyber solutions in support of CDM and future cyber work across the civil and defense spaces.”
The goal of the CDM contract is to modernize and standardize cyber solutions under DHS. Together, our team is expanding the footprint of our cybersecurity engineering services and developing advanced cyber capabilities. “The people who join our Cyber Center of Excellence in Texas will help agencies take over these advanced solutions,” adds Rob. “They’ll get to architect, develop, deploy, and integrate cyber solutions into an agency’s cyber portfolio, helping to secure their people, data, and networks from cyber attacks.” Teammates will also have the chance to work on regional projects that will play a significant role in Booz Allen’s cyber program. “The work we’re doing is really cyber for the whole nation,” says Director of Cyber Artificial Intelligence Greg McCullough. “We’re igniting innovative cyber techniques that we’ll then be able to share throughout the firm.”
While the tech is guaranteed to be cutting edge, the multi-city team environment promises to be especially dynamic. “San Antonio and Austin are so different,” says Talent Acquisition Manager Renee Edwards. “Austin is a growing high-tech hub and San Antonio has a strong military history. Unifying them as part of this Cyber Center effort will really make an impact.” Greg agrees. “These cities are unique and diverse, and that’s so important to us as we build these new teams.”
People are at the very core of who we are as Booz Allen—both in Texas and across the globe. “Why do I stay here? The people, the mission, and the technology… in that order,” says Greg. “At Booz Allen, we’re not selling a product other than the services our people can provide. We’re only as good as our people. That’s why people are our priority.”
