Meet Alicia

Alicia Ponegalek is a business development leader. Based out of our Exton, Pennsylvania, office, she is responsible for growing Booz Allen’s product and technology ecosystems management services offerings within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) account. 

Alicia has extensive expertise in business development process improvement, capture strategy, proposal and pipeline management, and pricing strategy. She uses these skills to develop and execute growth strategies, lead capture activities, and cultivate strong client relationships.

Alicia joined Booz Allen as part of our 2021 acquisition of Liberty IT Solutions, where she held positions as a principal consultant and director of strategic initiatives for nearly 8 years. Her work helped provide solutions to the VA, including implementation of a national clinical contact center offering 24/7 core services to create additional virtual healthcare for veterans, a vaccination tracking system in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and execution of cloud-based services that support the VA’s digital modernization strategy.

Alicia holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Pittsburgh.

What makes you excited to come to work every day? I love coming to work every day because I’m very proud of what we do. Our technology solutions improve access to care for our nation’s veterans, and every day is an opportunity for us to provide a new solution to a different challenge. Being able to support our clients and work with our product teams to provide outcomes that improve the veterans’ healthcare experience is so exciting. 

What is one of the most pressing needs in technology solutions? Everything is about speed. To achieve outcomes faster for our clients, we see the need for a “buy before build” approach, focusing on low code/no code solutions, an API-first (application programming interface) integration strategy, and reusable solutions to accelerate delivery.

How do you inspire your teams to do excellent work? How do your teams inspire you? When I think about growth and new business, my goals are to use our capabilities to take on tough challenges in support of our clients and to provide one-of-a-kind opportunities for our teams to work on. I believe that finding the right opportunities to provide impactful—and cool—solutions will inspire our teams to do excellent work. Seeing our product teams take an idea or a new business proposal and turn it into a working product that helps our client is so inspiring.
