McLean, VA — As the nature and frequency of 21st century physical and cyber security threats facing the United States continue to evolve, Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) remains at the forefront in support of the armed forces’ new missions, adoption of innovative technologies, and tackling of acquisition and budgeting challenges focused on Warfighter’s needs. Today, Booz Allen announced that it has been selected as the prime contractor for the U.S General Services Administration Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM) $937 million Global Threat Mitigation Program (GTMP). The award was made using GSA’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) and represents the largest OASIS award to date.
The GTMP will bolster U.S. security interests at home and abroad, and protect military forces. Booz Allen will support the Department of Defense with assessments that identify and analyze evolving and emerging threats and provide US Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) and its operational and strategic partners – the Army National Guard (ARNG), U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC), U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR), U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) and U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM) – with training and expertise to combat these threats.
The GTMP task order requires Booz Allen to conduct regional strategic planning as well as threat and intelligence analyses and assessments. Specifically, Booz Allen will assist in the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide methodology and approach for training management and curriculum development. In addition, the firm will continue to provide Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) training support at U.S. Army home stations and with partner nations using live, virtual, constructive and gaming training methods. The contract also requires Booz Allen to provide Integrated Air and Missile program support Information Operations support and surge support for all partners. The global work expands on and vastly broadens Booz Allen’s current support for the U.S. Army for training and threat detection related to C-IED measures.
“Booz Allen’s leadership in assisting our nation’s defense agencies with performing at top efficiency and capability has been a foundation of our company since 1940, when founder Edwin Booz helped the Navy gear up for World War II,” said Joe Logue, executive vice president and leader of the firm’s defense business. “Booz Allen is honored to expand our support of FORSCOM and its partners for this essential work to improve global security, and further protect the lives of men and women in uniform. This ‘partnership’ between multiple clients will result in significant efficiencies, knowledge sharing and improved C-IED education that includes establishing training locations, preparing or executing instructional experiences for partner nations, planning and executing educational aids and providing logistical support.
“We believe our expertise with defense acquisition, military professional development and threat analysis is the differentiator to help ensure FORSCOM and its partners meet their mission priorities,” Logue said.
Brian McKeon, executive vice president and leader of the firm’s Army business, said, “Booz Allen has consistently collaborated with FORSCOM, Combatant Commands, the Army National Guard, the Army Reserve, the Army Service Component Commands and our Partner nations to combat threats including those in cyberspace. The need to modernize and be more agile in identifying emerging or changing threats, and rapidly mitigate them is more important than ever before. Booz Allen is proud to continue its work in keeping our nation and partners strong.”
