At this year’s 2017 SXSW conference, one of the nation’s premier venues for new ideas, Booz Allen senior executive Dee Dee Helfenstein discussed the changing workplace, the on-demand economy, and how organizations can better attract and retain working mothers and other caregivers. She also discussed Booz Allen’s 2016 Return-to-Work pilot program, which, in partnership with SWE and iRelaunch, offered paid re-entry internships for talented engineers looking to jumpstart their return to the workforce.
As a follow-on to the SxSW discussion, we continued the dialogue by convening a group of working moms to discuss their needs and experiences in an open and informal setting. Based on their feedback, we have piloted a variety of new services and initiatives to better support working parents.
