Dr. Roman Salasznyk leads Booz Allen’s life science practice, as well as our support to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health, and programs across the Department of Health and Human Services and Military Health. Based out of our Bethesda, Maryland office, he is a recognized leader in the pharmaceutical development lifecycle, including the management of nonclinical, clinical, and manufacturing studies; supporting transformational change through the delivery of leading-edge informatics capabilities; and integrating broad disciplines within life sciences to support federal health clients.
Roman has more than 18 years of experience in biomedical research, medical product and regulatory lifecycle development, and general management consulting. He manages a multidisciplinary team that supports initiatives aimed at expediting medical product approvals and scientific discoveries, fostering innovative research and strategies to improve public health, and strengthening the efficiency and effectiveness of mission-critical operations.
Prior to joining Booz Allen in 2010, Roman managed the clinical and regulatory development of cellular therapies to treat serious medical conditions for inflammatory, orthopedic, and cardiovascular indications at Osiris Therapeutics. His work included leading the company’s development of a biological product under a multimillion-dollar Department of Defense contract.
Roman is a certified project management professional. He was an Aspen Spotlight Health Scholar, has authored more than 10 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and holds a U.S. patent for the preparation and delivery of cellular therapeutics.
He has a Ph.D. in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
