Booz Allen Wins New IDIQ Award to Support U.S. Military Chemical and Biological Defense

McLean, Va. – With the growing threat of weapons of mass destruction, it has never been more important for the U.S. military to possess sufficient means to prevent and respond to this threat. The mission of the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical Biological Defense (JPEO CBD) is to protect the nation’s armed forces from weapons of mass destruction by equipping them with the latest chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) defense equipment and capabilities. To support this mission, the Department of Defense has awarded Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) a spot on the $8.27 billion Joint Enterprise Research Development, Acquisition and Procurement (JE RDAP) IDIQ contract to strengthen the nation’s CBRNE defense systems and capabilities. 

“The CBRNE systems and equipment developed by the JPEO CBD provide critical protection for our nation and its military services at home and abroad,” said Nicole Funk, senior vice president at Booz Allen. “Having supported the CBRNE Defense community for over years 25 years, Booz Allen will leverage our advances in analytics, artificial intelligence, systems integration, rapid prototyping, cyber and disease detection to further the JPEO CBD’s mission.”
