Duane Neal provides subject matter expertise on integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) for Booz Allen’s Joint Combatant Command clients.
He has authored several pieces of thought leadership during his time at Booz Allen, including an abstract on the concept of the technical maturity agent selected for presentation at the Hypersonic Technology and Systems Conference.
Duane retired from the U.S. Navy in December 2017, where he served as a surface warfare officer specializing in IAMD. His last active duty assignment was on the Joint Staff, Force Structure, Resources and Assessments, J-8, where he was the regional warfighter requirements branch chief for the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense Organization. He also served as the U.S. representative to the NATO Panel on Air and Missile Defense for 2 years, during which time he led multinational syndicates which resulted in changes to NATO IAMD Policy. He has published articles in multiple periodicals, including e‐International Relations and Missile Defense Review.
Duane has a bachelor of science in naval architecture from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master of science in military studies from the Marine Corps University.
