Cynthia O’Brien has more than 22 years of experience driving economic analysis, financial management, and project controls for defense and commercial clients. She uses analytics to make large, complex defense programs substantially more efficient and effective by optimizing key business processes.
As the leader of Booz Allen’s aerospace account analytics capability, Cynthia ensures our Air Force clients harness the power of predictive analytics with new data science approaches, tools, and technologies. She drives business strategy through capture efforts, targeted bid strategies, and marketing and development of capabilities. She also provides thought leadership and expert advice with statistical techniques such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and data mining.
Before joining Booz Allen, Cynthia provided financial and economic expertise at MCIWorldcom, where she evaluated business case financial performance and made recommendations for new approaches to products and pricing. At PriceWaterhouseCoopers, she provided financial and economic analyses for domestic and international clients in industry sectors such as energy, postal, transportation, and utilities. At J.P. Morgan and Company, she marketed tax-exempt cash and derivative products to various municipality, industrial, and utility clients.
Cynthia holds numerous certifications, including as project management professional, professional innovator (practitioner level – design thinking), human capital strategist, and Lean Agile Scrum Master. She also completed a data science certification through a joint program that Booz Allen and training provider General Assembly developed.
She has a double B.A. in economics and political science from Bryn Mawr College and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
