We adhere to the highest standards of business ethics and integrity. We’re proud to have been one of the first organizations in the U.S. to adopt a formal statement of business ethics.
The origins of our commitment to culture and ethics trace back to the 1930s, when Carl Hamilton wrote the firm’s first formal code of ethics. By codifying our commitment to integrity and values, he set the course for the firm’s focus on culture and ethics that is growing stronger today.
We're committed to the highest standards of business ethics and integrity. In addition to our board-level Ethics and Compliance Committee, we have also established an Ethics and Business Integrity Office, a corporate-level function to coordinate the firm's ethics and compliance program. With board-level oversight by the Audit Committee, our ethics program governance bodies promote our values, protect the firm, and ensure that employees who have concerns can effectively report them.
We hold all of our employees accountable for ethical behavior established by a common code of business ethics and compliance known as our Green Book. And we partner with organizations that are committed to ethical behavior as governed by our Partner in Ethics program.
