Innovating the Working Mom
9:30am–10:30am

Demographic trends show an ever-increasing set of pressures causing women to exit the traditional workforce, particularly when they face motherhood. Firms are struggling to identify how they can retain this talent, offering new benefits, incentives, and flexibility. However, the on-demand workforce—enabling people to work wherever, whenever, in ways they can still maintain some professional modicum—presents new paths away from Corporate America.

Join our panel discussing the on-demand economy for working women and the modern methods being used attract and retain women as firms innovate the working-mom experience.

Catch Me If You Can: Using SDN to Protect Enterprise
12:30pm-1:30pm
SESSION DETAILS SESSION DETAILS

Software-defined networking, or SDN, offers automation and orchestration advantages, leading to an intelligent enterprise. SDN can enable automated cyber defense, especially as organizations look to more effectively respond and mitigate cyber attacks.

However, more advanced techniques, including the application of machine learning, can be used to shift an organization’s focus from automated response to proactively defending the network. This discussion will focus on the use of SDN to not only enable security orchestration and automated cyber response, but to proactively alter the attack surface to deceive potential adversaries.

Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics are a fun plot device but if they had worked, his stories would have been much less interesting. There are many ongoing efforts to build guardrails for machine intelligence, but ensuring that MI is “provably aligned” with human values is only a theoretical possibility.

Join our speakers as they explore some of the leading ideas from academia, science fiction, and business for safeguarding humanity from a superintelligence—and explain why this may not even be possible.
