Kirk Vollmecke is an Army intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance portfolio growth business lead for Booz Allen. With more than 28 years of acquisition experience and cross-functional leadership assignments, Kirk has expertise in strategic planning, program management, manufacturing and acquisition logistics, procurement, contract administration, and security assistance. He applies his in-depth knowledge of Department of Defense (DOD) contracting and the federal government sector’s services to support his teams’ missions and their clients’ goals.
Prior to joining Booz Allen, Kirk had a 35-year Army career as the program executive officer (PEO) for intelligence, electronic warfare, and sensors. As the PEO, Kirk was the senior executive responsible for the acquisition lifecycle and portfolio management of over 90 major defense programs with an annual budget of $3 billion. He retired as a two-star general and Army PEO in DOD systems acquisition and procurement management.
Kirk is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He’s a 2015 Distinguished Alumnus of Centre College of Kentucky and member of the President’s Advisory Council.
Kirk has a B.A. in economics and management from Centre College and another degree in English. He earned an M.S. in management from the Naval Postgraduate School with a concentration in systems management and acquisition. In addition, Kirk has an M.S. in defense strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College. He’s a certified professional contract manager and member of the National Contract Management Association and the Program Management Institute.
