Joe Rohner is a director in Booz Allen’s artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics business, delivering data science, AI, and analytics solutions to the Department of Navy and our West Coast and Pacific Rim clients. For more than 15 years, Joe has supported Navy clients on a variety of analytics and data science engagements, including at Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (formerly Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command).
He and his teams help define how the Department of Navy can use AI and data science to become a more mission-ready organization. Joe manages teams that provide AI strategy and technical advisory services, AI design and implementation services, machine learning operations support, and AI training.
Since 2017, Joe has been helping organizations use hackathons to crowdsource their data science challenges and unlock the true value of their data, including acting as the lead architect of the data science track at the Navy's HACKtheMACHINE. He also provides leadership of the world’s premier data science competition for social good, the Data Science Bowl®, presented by Booz Allen and Kaggle.
Recognized for his leadership, expertise, and contributions to the field, Joe received two “40 Under 40” awards in 2019: from the San Diego Business Journal and the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association.
Joe has an M.B.A. and a B.S. in statistics from San Diego State University. He also holds numerous certifications, including a master’s certification in business analytics from Indiana University.
