McLean, VA — Our world is rapidly changing: technology is breaking down geographic and cultural barriers, natural resource constraints are driving the creation of uncommon alliances, and unprecedented opportunities for innovation are spurring new pathways for youth, educators and business. Much of this change – as well as transformative programs to address what’s ahead – can be found in the more than 200 overall proposals for the inaugural Aspen Ideas Award. Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE:BAH) today congratulated the 15 finalists who will compete for the Aspen Ideas Award at the Aspen Ideas Festival, beginning June 25.
Since 2004, Booz Allen Hamilton has participated at the Aspen Ideas Festival, the nation's premier, public gathering place for leaders from around the globe and across many disciplines to engage in deep and inquisitive discussions of the ideas and issues that both shape our lives and challenge our times. The Award, new this year, will provide three winners with $25,000 each after they battle it out during live “pitch”sessions scheduled for June 27th during Spotlight Health, June 30th during Fest 1 and July 3rd during Fest 2. The Award is designed to inspire ideas that will have a lasting impact on communities around the globe. Finalists were selected from nearly 10,000 votes and an evaluation from a panel of judges.
“We are thrilled to work hand in hand with The Aspen Institute and the Aspen Scholars and presenters on the Award program to identify the start of solutions to some of today's key challenges. We hope that both the winners and all participants will take things from ideas into actions,” said Bill Thoet, Booz Allen Hamilton executive vice president and emcee of the Ideas Award live pitch event. “Sharing is two-way, so we look forward also to learning from the finalists and returning that knowledge back to Booz Allen’s global community and clients.”
This year, leaders from the firm, including Horacio Rozanski, president and chief executive officer, are preparing to join some 350 presenters and 3,000 attendees on the Aspen Institute's campus in Aspen, CO, to discuss many of the world’s pressing problems and vexing issues.
