For the last several years, Booz Allen has engaged in a deep and committed partnership with Red Hat, the world’s leading supplier of open source software products. And last week at the Red Hat North America Partner Summit, Booz Allen was named 2015 Public Sector Cloud Partner of the Year.
We’re extremely excited to receive this award, as it reflects the depth of our partnership with Red Hat and our shared commitment to using open source solutions to solve our clients’ biggest challenges. And although Booz Allen’s engagement with Red Hat originated primarily with cloud management technologies, today we’re a Preferred Reseller of Red Hat’s entire line of open source software products, making us a “one-stop-shop” for Red Hat products along with expert consulting and product integration services.
Our partnership with Red Hat dates back to 2013, when we developed Project Jellyfish, our in-house cloud broker. Subsequently, we became a founding member of ManageIQ, the community upstream code that powers CloudForms, Red Hat’s flagship cloud management tool. In 2014, we open sourced Project Jellyfish, making it freely available for download on Github and catalyzing a community of contributors, including Red Hat and other industry leaders, to continue to improve the platform. And in 2015, we integrated Project Jellyfish with ManageIQ, effectively replacing CloudForms 4’s self-service user interface with Project Jellyfish.
In conjunction with this ManageIQ integration, we formalized our partnership with Red Hat into a Strategic Alliance, through which Booz Allen earned the Preferred Reseller status. In doing so, Booz Allen became the first and only Red Hat Systems Integrator to also hold the Preferred Reseller status.
Looking to the Future
In addition to helping clients use Red Hat products to solve their most difficult challenges with open source solutions, we’re taking a portion of our profits from our Red Hat product sales and reinvesting them back into the open source communities that continue to develop and improve Red Hat products.
