WASHINGTON, DC — On May 13, Easter Seals Serving DC | MD | VA will Celebrate Our Heroes Among Us and present Advocacy Awards to The Honorable Elizabeth Dole, former United States Senator (NC) and founder of The Elizabeth Dole Foundation, and Booz Allen Hamilton and its Chairman of the Board Dr. Ralph Shrader at its annual Advocacy Awards Dinner at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC. Since 2004, military, government and business leaders have been honored for their exemplary commitment to advancing opportunities for children and adults with disabilities or special needs, including wounded warriors, military, veterans and their families, at the Advocacy Awards.
All proceeds from this event support Easter Seals critical programs throughout the region. Easter Seals provides exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs, and their families, have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.
Evening Event (Reception and Dinner)
WHO: The Honorable Elizabeth Dole and Dr. Ralph Shrader, Chairman, Booz Allen Hamilton, accepting honors; Robin Portman, Executive Vice President, Booz Allen Hamilton serving as Chair of the 2015 Advocacy Awards Committee; Deborah Mullen, advocate for military families and wife of Admiral Mike Mullen (Ret.), 17th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, serving as Honorary Chair; and several government officials and United States Senators and Representatives serving on the Ambassador Committee. Easter Seals staff and families will be available for interviews at the reception.
