With the support of teammates and leadership, she gives her time to causes that inspire her, including helping female veterans and advancing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education for girls.
We spoke with Jessica about her work, spirit of giving, and advice for service members re-entering the workforce.
What's your role at Booz Allen?
I lead a workforce development and training service for the C-130 Hercules Division, Mobility Directorate, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base. Composed of teams working across four states, this effort bridges our expertise in instructional design, web design, and immersive technologies to deliver game-changing solutions to our client. I also lead and strategize the major acquisitions, design, and development of Air Force and foreign military cyber, electronic warfare, and network warfare programs. My experience in the military complements Booz Allen’s history of delivering leading-edge technology and innovation. I apply the same high standards and integrity that I carried throughout my military career to my work here.
What's the most rewarding part of your job?
The flexibility to pursue my passions while furthering my career. I chair a committee focused on strengthening community partnerships between our firm and the Warner Robins community, which means I get the pleasure of leading teams in support of important local initiatives. I’m passionate about helping female veterans as they transition into life after their military service. I also have a strong desire to end female veteran homelessness and am motivated to advance STEM education and outreach across Georgia. I love that my teammates and our leadership are eager to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
What brought you to Booz Allen?
I’ve always felt that my military service to protect and defend our freedoms exemplifies everything that I stand for, and Booz Allen embraces that part of me. I also strongly believe in the firm’s values. Who wouldn’t want to be part of a firm that makes such a difference on a global scale?
What advice do you have for transitioning military members re-entering the workforce?
This is an incredible opportunity for you to pursue your passions and be diligent about your purpose. You can master anything you put your mind to. Be patient with the process. It may take a little time, but precision and excellence are in your military training. There is a steep learning curve, but in the end, you'll find yourself again.
