Just outside of Sacramento, California–a short drive from Lake Tahoe, wine country, and the Bay Area–sits Beale Air Force Base. It is here that some of Booz Allen’s most talented people are working alongside the U.S. Air Force to deliver cutting-edge mission planning, intelligence, technology, and weather forecasting services. Their goal: Enhance the Air Force’s ability to support pivotal national security missions worldwide.
This isn’t typical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) work. Along with global mission planning services, we’re partnering with the Air Force to establish a new innovation lab, allowing them to explore, prototype, and demonstrate innovative technologies and processes to further promote mission effectiveness.
“This is, by far, the most exciting project I’ve worked on in my 11 years at Booz Allen,” says Program Manager Al Pollard. “I’ve never been someplace where I can work with aircrew, mission planners, weather forecasters, intelligence analysts, and technical PhDs at the same time. It truly is a team brimming with talent.”
While unparalleled professional opportunities bring our teammates to Sacramento, it’s the city’s lifestyle options that make them feel at home.
“Sacramento is California’s capital and a hidden gem of a city,” says Recruiter Alexa Montgomery. “You can settle in the vibrant downtown area, with hip restaurants and entertainment. In the suburbs, you’ll find family-friendly communities and excellent schools. You can own land in the country. Old gold rush towns are everywhere, and we even get snow in the mountains. There’s something for everyone.”
For Al, that something is the wonder of the work itself. “When I drive on base and see famed aircraft taking off, it almost makes me gasp,” he says. “I still can’t believe what I’m seeing. Not only do I get to witness the physical impact Booz Allen makes to national security, I play a part in it all.”
