It’s your first day of work. You open the office door and enter a newly renovated technology hub filled with some of the world’s top cleared software developers, DevOps engineers, cyber professionals, consultants, and other experts. They’re brainstorming, collaborating, and debating everything from unmanned surface vehicles to enterprise integration.
Welcome to Booz Allen San Diego. You’re here to dream big, drive hard, and do right. You’re here, like the rest of the team, to change the world. Ready to meet a few of the colleagues who will help you do it?
The Dreamer
Cybersecurity Engineer Kathy Brown was a military intel analyst when she became interested in cyber threats. “As technology evolves, so do the capabilities of our adversaries. I saw the importance of safeguarding our systems and wanted to be a part of that change.” But she wasn’t sure how to realize her vision. “I didn’t come in with technical experience, but leadership gave me opportunities to learn and grow. They always foster my ideas.”
The Driver
“I’m helping transform how the Navy designs and delivers IT services to warfighters,” says Christopher Hong, systems engineer. “I’m also developing an internal-facing service for the Navy that revolves around model-based systems engineering.” But it doesn’t stop there. “Booz Allen gives me the chance to help with recruiting and diversity initiatives. They encourage me to speak at conferences and develop white papers—even write a technical book.” Clearly Chris is just getting started.
The Doer
“If you can’t work on a team, you won’t work here.” The stakes are high, so Recruiter Alexa Montgomery doesn’t mince words—or action—when it comes to assembling a world-class team. “You need to excel at communication. Can you talk tech to a non-technical person? Can you translate what a client tells you into what you need from a technical perspective—and then go do it? We’re making an impact on national security and that affects everything that’s happening in the world.”
Dreamers, drivers, doers: Those are the people who make progress. Those are the people who empower change. Those are the people we need on our team. Are you one of them?
