What’s it like to work at Booz Allen in Dayton, Ohio? Senior Lead Technologist Tim Hunter sums it up this way: “We’re a bunch of people who like to geek out about the exciting challenges we’re facing together. We’re always learning from, teaching, and pushing each other to be our best.” It should be no surprise, then, that in this space of constant collaboration, a new Digital Hub is forming in Dayton.
Joining the ranks of our other Digital Hubs, including Charleston, South Carolina; Herndon, Virginia; and Laurel, Maryland, Dayton is a place where top talent and leading-edge technology coincide to tackle mission-critical challenges. “We’re assembling a flexible group of people that can work together across projects and technologies,” says Tim. “Team members know each other’s skills and strengths and work together as a cohesive unit to solve problems quickly,” adds Lead Technologist Sarah Kelch.
The work in Dayton is as vibrant as the team. We partner with government agencies to modernize and secure their legacy environments, an important task that centralizes data safely. We also play a key role in developing a next-generation data services and data analytics platform designed to accelerate the adoption of unique capabilities, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. “We tackle issues that directly influence our clients’ missions,” says Kate Mercer, program manager for aerospace digital projects. “What we’re doing has an immediate impact on their rapid decision making capability.”
While the projects and technology are advancing daily, it’s the people who push our future forward. “I’ve never met a group so invested in their teammates,” says Sarah. “My colleagues support me no matter what—we all want everyone to succeed.” Kate agrees. “In Dayton, you already have the encouragement of those around you. If you have the passion and energy, too, you’ll thrive at Booz Allen.”
