David Mackey is a leader in Booz Allen’s commercial business. His team is responsible for advising customers in
David has more than 25 years of experience in information technology (IT) and 20 years in information security. Prior to joining Booz Allen, David created the cyber defense organization at General Motors. The group analyzed the overall cyber threat landscape, monitored the company’s digital infrastructure for signs of malicious activity, and contained any attacks.
David's cyber expertise covers security operations, threat analysis, and incident response. He has created consulting practices, managed security services, and built high-performing teams passionate about defending enterprise IT environments. Prior to his time at General Motors, David created security consulting practices at both Mandiant and ArcSight, helping customers build security monitoring and incident response teams. He also served as director of operations for the
David has written two books: Guide to Network Security and Web Security for Network and System Administrators. He has also taught information security classes at the University of Colorado at Boulder and earned a U.S. patent for the Network Threat Risk Assessment Tool.
