What’s it like to be a consultant? More than 20 students from the American University of Beirut (AUB) found out when they became “consultants for a day” at Booz Allen’s recent simulation exercise.
Now in its third year, this hands-on workshop and simulation brings together top AUB students from a variety of academic departments such as engineering, finance, and economics to learn and network.
Divided into five equal teams, the students competed to solve real-world challenges faced by a government ministry. Throughout the exercise, they practiced negotiation, communications, and analytical skills—and gained firsthand insights into the world of consulting. The winning team received certificates of achievement from Booz Allen’s managing director in the Middle East and North Africa region, Executive Vice President Souheil Moukaddem.
About 10 Booz Allen employees were right by their sides, offering their strategic consulting expertise. Senior Associate Samer Abi Chaker organized and led the event, while others served as moderators and facilitators. The students also had the opportunity to network with the firm’s senior leaders.
