Leader: Dr. Ralph Shrader, Chairman & CEO of Booz Allen Hamilton
Episode: 2
Run Time: 3:50
Release Date: 9/6/2008

Overview:

Our In the Flow podcast series on leadership and success began with a look at the concept of charting success – adapting to our ever-changing liquid world by refining goals and staying true to our values. In this episode, entitled “Everybody Can Win,” we redefine the sports’ world notion of winning to recognize enduring institutions with enduring values and strong cultures – the real winners in the business world.

In the rapid currents of our 21st-century liquid world, enduring institutions need to change, grow and adapt to remain successful and relevant over the years. But they must stay true to themselves – their culture, values and vision – over the long term. Enduring leaders learn from the past as they embrace the future and the rich diversity of opinions, perspectives and backgrounds in the institutions they lead. This creates a climate in which everybody can win.

Success is when there are many winners, not a single victor. Passion about our life’s work, a commitment to creating and improving our place in the world, and a sincere desire to help others – these are the building blocks of a successful life’s journey.
