On December 4, 2008, US Fed News reported that Medical Command and the Office of The Surgeon General received the first Lean Six Sigma Excellence Award for direct reporting unit level organizational deployment from Secretary of the Army. Lt. Gen. Robert E. Durbin, special assistant to the chief of staff of the Army for enterprise management, named Booz Allen as being among the key members of the Army's MEDCOM LSS team.
