Booz Allen Votes To Extend Ralph W. Shrader as Chairman and CEO

Shrader will lead the firm until October 2009.

McLean, VA, October 26, 2004 — The Board of Directors of Booz Allen Hamilton announced that it voted unanimously to extend the term of office of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ralph W. Shrader for an additional four years.

Shrader, the firm's seventh chairman since its founding in 1914, took office in 1999, and now will lead the firm until October 2009. With Shrader at the helm, the firm has grown from 9,000 employees with sales of $1.5 billion, to more than 16,000 employees with sales of $2.7 billion today, an 80 percent increase.

"I am deeply honored by the confidence expressed by my colleagues," Shrader said. "I'm excited about our growth and the prospect of continuing to help our clients in industry and government meet the complex and changing challenges of our time. We have important work yet to do, and I am proud to be part of it."

Dr. Ralph ShraderShrader, 60, has been with the firm for 30 years, and has led business units in Booz Allen's commercial and government sectors. He joined Booz Allen in 1974 and was elected a vice president in 1978. He formerly served as President of the firm's Worldwide Technology Business, one of the firm's two major business units. Shrader's personal consulting practice centers on the global communications industry. He has led major assignments for telecommunications companies in the United States, Europe, and Latin America and was involved in Booz Allen's landmark work for AT&T at the time of divestiture.

Shrader is past Chairman of the Board of the 40,000-member Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). He is Chairman of The Neediest Kids, a charity in the National Capital area, and on the Board of Abilities Inc., an organization dedicated to career opportunities for individuals with disabilities, and the Board of ServiceSource, the largest community rehabilitative program in Virginia.

Prior to joining Booz Allen, Shrader worked for RCA and Western Union. A resident of Bethesda, MD, he holds a B.S. degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Illinois.
