William F. Stasior Recipient of Marriott Lifetime Achievement Award
The Arthritis Foundation has bestowed the Marriott Lifetime Achievement Award on Booz Allen's Chairman and CEO
Washington, DC, November 18, 1998—The Arthritis Foundation, Metropolitan Washington Chapter, will present the Marriott Lifetime Achievement Award to William F. Stasior, Chairman and CEO of Booz Allen Hamilton at the JW Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC. on Thursday, November 19, 1998. Named in honor of its first recipient, Alice Sheet Marriott, the award is presented by the Arthritis Foundation to recognize and pay tribute to outstanding citizens for their lifelong achievements and dedication to community service and to encourage continued support for the fight against arthritis. Past recipients include Barry Goldwater, William G. McGowan, former Chairman and CEO of MCI Telecommunications, Senator Robert J. Dole, and Senator Orrin G. Hatch.
As Chairman and CEO of an 8,500 person international management and technology consulting firm based in McLean, Virginia—Booz Allen Hamilton—Mr. Stasior has opened the doors to give back to the community. By establishing and supporting a comprehensive community relations department, Booz Allen now reaches out to over 300 various non-profit and community-based organizations through volunteer time, monetary contributions, and pro bono technical expertise.
Booz Allen has partnered with the Arthritis Foundation for eight years to help carry out the mission of the organization to provide help and hope to the 500,000 Washingtonians affected by arthritis. Booz Allen Hamilton's support of the Arthritis Foundation includes financial contributions, employee participation and volunteer assistance. Last year alone, more than 340 Booz Allen Hamilton employees ran in the Arthritis Foundation's signature road race, the Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis, and raised nearly $30,000 to battle arthritis.
