2009 Most Admired Companies for Minority Professionals logoBooz Allen Hamilton has been named third on the list of 2009 Most Admired Companies for Minority Professionals. Honorees will be recognized at a special event on December 10, 2009 at Temple University in Philadelphia.

The firm was chosen based on a survey completed by readers of three Career Communications Group (CCG) magazines, whose combined readership exceeds 250,000: US Black Engineer & Information Technology (USBE&IT), Women of Color (WOC), and Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology (HE&IT).

“Being recognized as a Most Admired company celebrates more than 15 years of focus and a shared commitment to work towards inclusivity across all levels of the firm,” says principal Mark McLane. “This combination of focus and commitment enables Booz Allen’s innovative diversity programming to be developed and deployed, and for us to ultimately be recognized for our best practices in addressing the needs of our diverse staff.”

The honor speaks to Booz Allen’s strong brand with diverse communities. “Understanding that creating an inclusive work environment is an evolutionary challenge, the formula for continued improvement and success remains unchanged,” McLane adds. “This recognition validates our great work and leadership, and highlights our need to continue the evolution and meet the needs of our changing workforce. That commitment to grow and adapt makes us the employer of choice in our industry.”

The CCG survey consisted of 64 questions directed to staff who identify as Hispanic, Native American, Asian, black, as well as other employees in science, technology, engineering, and math-related (STEM) industries. The sample group included technical and non-technical professionals. Criteria used in the selection process include corporate ethics, educational and development opportunities, and benefits.  Conducted annually, the Most Admired award is in its fifth year.

CCG also produces the annual Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA) STEM Global Competitiveness Conference and the National Women of Color Science, Technology, and Engineering, and Math Awards Conference.
