2010 Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work SurveyMcLean, VA, September 18, 2009—Booz Allen Hamilton has achieved a 100% rating on the 2010 Corporate Equality Index and Best Places to Work Survey, administered by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation. This is the first year that Booz Allen has achieved a perfect rating. The 2010 Corporate Equality Index, which rates 590 businesses on a scale from 0 to 100 percent, was released the week of September 14th and print copies will be available in late September.

In addition to providing extensive domestic partner benefits, Booz Allen’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy now includes gender identity and expression as a protected category. The firm is also actively reviewing health care benefits to remove language, wherever possible, that may be exclusionary to its transgender employees.

“Booz Allen remains deeply committed to ensuring that our policies and benefits continue to reflect the needs of our diverse culture. Our Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Employee Forum (GLOBE) took a lead role in driving these policy and benefit changes, and their success speaks to GLOBE’s sophistication in providing guidance to the firm,” says Betty Thompson, Vice President of People Services.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality.
