Booz Allen Named to G.I. Jobs’ Top 50 Military-Friendly Employers List, Sponsors U.S. Air Force Band Concert in Honor of America’s Veterans
Firm is highlighted for its Armed Services Forum and efforts to reintegrate veterans back into the workplace.
McLean, VA – November 10, 2008 – Booz Allen Hamilton announced today that G.I. Jobs has selected it as a Top 50 Military-Friendly employer for the third time in a row. The firm is highlighted for its Armed Services Forum and efforts to reintegrate veterans back into the workplace.

Booz Allen is also honoring our nation’s veterans the through the sponsorship of an U.S. Air Force Band concert titled, America’s Veterans: A Musical Tribute. The concert was held at Strathmore Hall this past June and recorded for broadcast on PBS stations around the country. The concert begins airing in markets throughout the nation today with musical director Colonel Dennis Layendecker and featured performers Patti LaBelle, Clint Black, Cliff Robertson, and Jake Shimabukuro.
With 2,000 Armed Services Forum members, Booz Allen believes it is an important resource for insights into easing the transition from the battlefield to a business environment. The firm addresses the needs of "Workplace Warriors," civilian Soldiers returning from active duty – often in combat zones – to jobs in the corporate world. With the largest deployment of National Guard and Reservists since World War II under way, the firm helps workplace warriors during their reintegration back into civilian positions.
The Armed Services Forum has provided the firm with crucial lessons about approaches and programs that ease the reintegration of staff returning from active duty, including suggestions about establishing a military leave and return policy and a clear communication plan to explain benefits and programs.
There are fundamental business benefits in retaining veterans in the workforce, too. Not only do civilian Soldiers bring back to the workplace enhanced skills in leadership but also specialized domain knowledge. Veterans know how the Department of Defense operates and can share that knowledge with colleagues who don’t have defense experience, and they can also provide a networking framework for the business.
In addition to helping workplace warriors, Booz Allen is paying tribute to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces as a corporate sponsor for the second annual concert series in partnership with Strathmore Hall Arts Center, the US Air Force Band, and Maryland Public Television.
