Booz Allen Moves U.S. Army Toward Enterprise Logistics
Firm to provide systems engineering and integration services to help transform the Army’s enterprise logistics business.
McLean, VA, October 16, 2008— Booz Allen Hamilton today announced it has been awarded a three-year, $120 million delivery order for information technology (IT) services support for the Army Material Command (AMC) under the Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract.
Under the delivery order, the Booz Allen team will provide systems engineering and integration services to help transform the Army’s enterprise logistics business. Specifically, the team will work to consolidate and centralize hosting environments, helping AMC realize cost reductions and increased service levels. In addition, the team will design and create information dashboards and common operating pictures for operations centers, giving commanders access to more accurate data faster and enabling decision superiority across the command. Booz Allen will assist AMC operations throughout the command to include Fort Belvoir, Va, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., and at remote locations across the United States.
“In recent years, AMC‘s Office of the Chief Information Officer has undergone an important transformation to enable the logistics business of AMC,” said Booz Allen Hamilton program manager Bill Hilsman. “Having helped spearhead that transformation, the Booz Allen team has the unique expertise to help AMC deliver new technologies and processes across the enterprise so logisticians can carry out their mission faster, cheaper, and more effectively.”
Booz Allen has been providing end-to-end engineering support under the S3 contract to the Army for more than two years. The latest delivery order represents one of several awarded to Booz Allen.
