Booz Allen Named 2008 Contractor of the Year

Firm honored for its distinguished financial and operational accomplishments.

2008 Contractor of the Year awardBooz Allen Hamilton has been named “Contractor of the Year” at the 6th annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards banquet held on October 7, 2008, in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The annual awards event is sponsoreGenerald by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, the Professional Services Council, and Washington Technology magazine.

Booz Allen was selected in the large company category among competitors that had more than $300 million in annual revenue. This is the second time that the firm has been honored with the award, having been selected at the inaugural event in 2003. The Contractor of the Year award recognizes companies for their distinguished financial and operational accomplishments and for outstanding contributions during the past year to its employees, the government contracting industry, and the US government.

In accepting the award on behalf of the firm, Senior Vice President Pat Peck congratulated all the finalists and complimented them for their contributions to the support of US government operations. “We have had a great year, and we look forward to teaming with all of you, or competing with you, in the year ahead,” said Peck.

Contractor of the Year awards were presented in four revenue categories this year. The event also named Executives of the Year and Public Sector Partners of the Year in multiple categories. Norman R. Augustine, former Executive Chairman at Lockheed Martin Corporation, was inducted into the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards Hall of Fame for his professional excellence and his long-term contributions to the community and the industry.
