2007 Best Places to Work in IT logoMcLean, VA – June 18, 2007 – Booz Allen Hamilton announced today that IDG’s Computerworld magazine, the “Voice of IT Management,” has selected it as one of the top workplaces for information technology (IT) professionals.  Booz Allen moved up the list from 36th in 2005 to 28th place this year. This honor is part of the weekly IT publication’s 14th annual Best Places to Work in IT survey, which was published in the June 18 issue of Computerworld and online at Computerworld.com.

Booz Allen was highlighted for its commitment to corporate philanthropy and community service, with IT professionals central to that mission through their involvement in many charitable activities, including ALS and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Booz Allen aligns its resources—financial, in-kind and pro bono—with the charitable giving and volunteering interests of its officers, staff and their families.  IT professionals also participate in community service activities as groups, through employee forums, and at the individual level.

“This award is always of particular importance because it is in recognition of our staffs' talents, their commitment to both professional and personal excellence in the workplace and in the community” says Booz Allen Senior Director Daniel Gasparro.

“The recipients of this year’s Best Places to Work stand out because they are united by a common theme—they understand the importance of IT, and recognize the value these IT professionals bring to the workplace on a daily basis,” says Don Tennant, editor in chief, Computerworld.

Since 1994, Computerworld’s annual “Best Places to Work in IT” feature has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention.  In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.
