Joe Mahaffee, a Executive Vice President with Booz Allen Hamilton, has more than 28 years of experience in communications, information assurance and SIGINT.

Mr. Mahaffee began his career at Booz Allen in November 1981 providing system engineering and security support on key Navy and Joint Service programs.  He was elected Vice President in October 1998 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2007. He is currently the Location Lead for the firm’s Northeast Location, and he is a member of Booz Allen’s Leadership Team, Technology Capability Leadership Team, and CIO Leadership Team.

Previously, Mr. Mahaffee led Booz Allen’s Assurance and Resilience (A&R) capabilities development team, which is made up of more than 1,500 professional staff delivering Mission Assurance, Information Assurance, and Enterprise Resilience services across the Civil, Defense, Global Security, and commercial markets. He also served as the Client Service Officer for the NSA account within the Global Security market. In this capacity, he supported the NSA Information Assurance and SIGINT mission objectives by providing a broad range of technology-related services, including Systems Engineering, Intelligence Analysis, Software Development, Modeling & Simulation, System Prototyping and Solutions, Advanced Telecommunications Analysis, Information Assurance, and Program Management.

Prior to joining Booz Allen, Mr. Mahaffee was an information security engineer with the National Security Agency. Mr. Mahaffee is very active in the professional community. He served on the Board of Directors for the AFCEA Central Maryland Chapter. Presently, he is a board member of the Independent College Fund of Maryland where he serves as the President of the Executive Steering Committee and Chairman of the National Security Scholarship Program. Additionally, he is the Officer-in-Charge of the Booz Allen Hamilton/Johns Hopkins University Partnership program.

Mr. Mahaffee holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
