Dear Colleagues,

One of my earliest memories is standing on the dock with my mother, together with many other families, at Norfolk naval base, watching my father’s ship, the U.S.S. Intrepid, come into port after a tour of duty. I still remember the excitement, pride, and also the relief to have him home safely.

Today, on Veteran’s Day, we honor our family members, friends, and colleagues who have defended America’s freedom and the security of our allies. Many in our Booz Allen community are veterans, and on behalf of all of us, I thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Our annual Veteran’s Day celebration begins today at 11:30 am EST, in the Newman Auditorium on the McLean Campus, and will also be available by webcast for all staff. We are honored to welcome guest speaker Sergeant First Class Jarrett Jongema, U.S. Army Warrior Transition Command. His inspirational story of duty, injury, recovery and continued service reminds us of the importance of supporting our veterans and military community. Executive Vice President Joe Logue, and Senior Vice Presidents Robin Portman and Carl Salzano will update us on the firm’s initiatives to reintegrate veterans and wounded warriors. Lieutenant General Keith Stalder (Retired), United States Marine Corps, who last commanded the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific, will also give remarks as our Guest of Honor.

For those who want to support our veterans, you’re invited to visit Booz Allen Cares. In the Washington, DC area, you can donate your gently used suits to the Armed Services Forum’s Suits for Vets clothing drive to support veterans transitioning to the civilian workforce. Items will go to the firm’s nonprofit partner, Operation Homefront. For more information on our year-round support to veterans and wounded warriors, please see the Honoring Veterans site.
