As a firm committed to honoring and supporting our nation’s military, their families, and wounded warriors, Booz Allen Hamilton is proud to be a Bronze Sponsor of the National Veterans Wheelchair Games, held this week in Pittsburgh, PA. More than a dozen Booz Allen employees are joining hundreds of other volunteers on site at the event, which draws more than 600 wounded warriors from across the country to participate in a variety of adaptive sporting events. This year the firm will host an employment recruiting booth at the Wheelchair Games, providing wounded warrior athletes with information on career opportunities at Booz Allen.
The National Veterans Wheelchair Games is the largest annual wheelchair sports competition in the world, offering seventeen different sports to Wounded Warriors who use wheelchairs due to spinal cord injuries, certain neurological conditions, amputations or other mobility impairments. The games provide wounded warriors with the opportunity to rehabilitate and adapt through competitive sports, with many participants training year-round to compete.
The Nation Veterans Wheelchair Games is presented by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) and Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), with financial assistance from corporate, civic and veteran service organizations.
