To help the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention address the most serious public health challenges in Uganda, a Booz Allen Hamilton team worked on the ground in Uganda for six weeks in May and June with the local Centers for Disease Control and Prevention office (CDC-Uganda) to develop a five-year strategic plan. The process involved the participation of the 200+ CDC-Uganda staff.
Led and facilitated by Booz Allen, members of CDC-Uganda worked together to identify a new mission, vision for the organization and the goals, objectives, and strategies that would help them achieve this new direction. “The effectiveness of the Booz Allen team in creating a Strategic Plan for CDC -Uganda is an example of our deep expertise in health, strategy and communications, “Grant McLaughlin, vice president Booz Allen Hamilton said.
The strategic plan has been approved for implementation. Approval came after a process that finalized and socialized the plan with the Ugandan Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders. Follow-on work is anticipated in the fall.
