Booz Allen will underwrite Maryland Public Television’s presentation of “America’s Veterans: A Musical Tribute 2011,” a musical salute to the men and women who have served with honor and courage in the United States Armed Forces.
Led by the United States Air Force Band, the concert includes performances by Irish tenor Ronan Tynan, country singer Jo Dee Messina, Grammy and Emmy award-winning jazz trumpeter and pianist Arturo Sandoval, and So You Think You Can Dance winner Sabra Johnson. The hour-long televised special, filmed at the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, Maryland, will feature moving tributes to heroes from all five branches of the military. Among the honorees seated in the audience will be Medal of Honor recipient Col. George “Bud” Day, who served in World War II and the Korean War and survived more than five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
