Booz Allen Hamilton joined with the nation’s leading cybersecurity experts to examine critical issues surrounding technology and security at the Cyber Security Forum hosted by The Atlantic and Government Executive at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, on December 16, 2010.
More than 200 leaders from government, industry, think-tanks, and academia attended the event featuring a full day of discussions about current and emerging cyber threats to both the public and private sectors. Booz Allen was a co-underwriter of the forum, which included expert panels and a keynote speech by Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security.

“Cybersecurity is about more than just technology. It is about safeguarding the cyber domain, an imperative for any government or industry to operate securely and without disruption,” said Mike McConnell, Booz Allen Executive Vice President and leader of the firm’s Intelligence business. “The Cyber Security Forum is a catalyst for sharing new ideas to strengthen cybersecurity and highlighting the criticality of this issue.”
The conference featured three panels:
Panelists included Debora Plunkett, Director of the Information Assurance Directorate at the National Security Agency; James Andrew Lewis, Director and Senior Fellow of the Technology and Public Policy Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies; Joseph S. Nye, Jr., University Distinguished Service Professor and Sultan of Oman Professor of International Relations, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University; William Hunteman, Senior Advisor for Cyber Security at the Department of Energy; Marc Rotenberg, Director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center; Cita M. Furlani, Director of the Information Technology Laboratory within the National Institute of Standards and Technology; and Booz Allen Executive Vice President and former Director of National Intelligence, Mike McConnell.
