This Federal News Radio panel focuses on cost-effective IT in the age of mounting cyber threats. In your opinion, why is this topic so relevant as we look toward the future?

Federal agencies must trim costs to meet the Accountable Government Initiative and the Campaign to Cut Waste, and to address expected budget cuts as a result of on-going budget discussions.  At the same time, cyber attacks are increasing in frequency and sophistication with corresponding impact to the privacy of US citizens’ personally identifiable information, leakage of sensitive information to criminal and foreign interests, and harm to reputations. Implementing effective information technology that meets both cost and security considerations is critical.
