Our Commitment to Sustainability

Green Choices—Smart Futures

Booz Allen’s sustainability practices and services begin with making green choices for our own enterprise and extend well beyond the firm’s walls—through our people, our spirit of service, and our work with clients. We pledge to continue to create a sustainable environment for our clients, communities, workplaces, and the world.

What is sustainability?

Sustainability is action today that anticipates tomorrow. Sustainable practices integrate the firm’s environmental, social, and economic activities to enhance our ability to thrive under anticipated future conditions.

As we pursue sustainability with our communities and partners, we are making a fundamental transition:

  • From short-term thinking to long-term thinking
  • From an economy outside of nature to one that’s integrated with nature
  • From a linear to a systems flow of resources
  • From seeing environmental, social, and economic challenges as separate and competing to seeing them as interconnected systems

Sustainability Practices & Services

Booz Allen strives to consistently make green choices by promoting a broad range of sustainability practices in three main areas:

Recruiting & Hiring

Corporate Sustainability

Our Sustainability Steering Committee—made up of senior leaders—ensures that sustainable concepts are fully incorporated into facilities infrastructure, policies, and practices. Employee-led green activities are part of a companywide sustainability program with strategic initiatives and targets for all facets of our operations.

Community Partnerships

We complement our internal sustainability practices with employee volunteer engagements and sponsorships of environmentally-focused nonprofit organizations. We lend our employee intellectual capital to the firm’s pro bono efforts, which help to build and strengthen nonprofit capacity to meet mission goals.

Client Work

Client Work

In our work with clients, we deliver groundbreaking solutions that address global environmental challenges while promoting responsible consumption of resources.
