Project Description
Booz Allen developed the strategy and implementation plan for the NRO leadership development program entitled Future Focus: Building Tomorrow’s Leaders (“Future Focus”). Now, Booz Allen is executing the plan, which focuses on leaders at all levels of the NRO.
Intended or Achieved Results
Booz Allen developed or is developing the following:
- Leadership Development Strategic Plan and Implementation Plan
- Needs Analysis
- Leadership Competency Model
- Training, Experience, Feedback components
- Succession Planning Process
- Ongoing Support Activities
- Conducted a needs analysis to help determine which competencies and issues to emphasize in the design of the leadership development program and courses.
- Created a Leadership Development Guide that links the NRO leadership competencies to opportunities for training, experience, and feedback activities that leaders can participate in at the NRO.
- Developed a leadership curriculum that links core and elective courses, including commercial and off-the-shelf courses, to each competency. Booz Allen is also developing an NRO-specific leadership development course for each of the three levels of leadership. In addition, Booz Allen has helped the NRO launch the Future Focus Speaker Series, in which renowned experts and executives speak to NRO leaders about emerging issues and perspectives on leadership. More recently, Booz Allen collaborated with the CIA University to pilot NRO Leader Coaching, an individualized performance coaching service. Currently, Booz Allen is also in the process of defining the role of multi-source feedback in the NRO-specific leadership development courses, the experiential project, and the succession planning process.
