Organizational Analysis Task Area

HRsolutions Task Area Description:
Provide support to programming and oversight of organization and force structure to include force management, and workforce mix.

Booz Allen Capability Overview:
As political, technical and economic pressures change, so does the need for a clear statement of mission and vision to guide organizational decisions and change. Developing strategies that provide operational goals aligned and integrated for all levels of the organization is vital to engaging organizational members and stakeholders. Also, effective executive leadership is required to both manage and lead organizational improvements. The ability to motivate employees and build support improves the success of organizational transformation. Furthermore, altering and utilizing organizational enablers (e.g., systems, processes and tools) to facilitate and sustain organizational performance provides many different mechanisms to support change initiatives. Lastly, effective use of individual enablers involves successfully using organizational and managerial processes to motivate employees, while increasing job satisfaction and improving organizational effectiveness.

Booz Allen understands that the Army's organizational design and force structure processes are compressed due to the current OPTEMPO. The Army is restructuring, resetting, and redesigning organizations to provide a modular, flexible force. This elevated pace of change will continue to generate on-going requirements for HR-related studies and analyses.

Booz Allen Success Story:
Booz Allen is supporting a complete reorganization of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to improve focus on customer satisfaction and ensure accountability in its management structure. Our design and implementation work has fundamentally altered the structure of the IRS. We also designed and implemented a new competency-based HR system for the IRS to align with the new modernized, customer-focused organization, optimize employee performance and reinforce business objectives. In addition to our organization design work, we managed the recruitment, selection, launch and ongoing facilitation of the nationwide Citizen Advocacy Panels that provide cross-demographic, grassroots input to long-term IRS customer service improvements.
