Small Business Access to GSA’s Alliant
Booz Allen shares the General Services Administration’s (GSA) vision that the Alliant program will provide substantial opportunity for small business participation over the 10-year life of the program. Booz Allen is confident in its ability to exceed Alliant’s small business goal of 50%. We believe in seeking out small business partners to supplement our in-house professional, technical, and support capabilities, and to enter into mutually beneficial business agreements with them. We have a proven track record of exceeding our small business participation targets in our contracts. For example, in FY 2006, 54.9% of Booz Allen’s subcontract business—across all federal contracts—was awarded to small businesses.
Why Booz Allen?
Booz Allen believes in contributing to the communities in which we work and in helping those citizens obtain a fair share of the economic opportunities that are available. Small business concerns and minority institutions make important contributions to Booz Allen by enhancing our competitive edge, our performance on specific contracts, and our bottom line. They also play a critical role in the future of our global economy.
To facilitate the use of small businesses under Alliant, Booz Allen offers the following—
-
We have a Small Business Office (SBO) that maintains an online portal and registration process for all companies interested in working with us: https://doing business.bah.com.
-
The SBO has again received a rating of Highly Successful from the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) on our most recent (June 2005) audit by DCMA.
-
The Department of Defense (DoD), Office of Small Business Programs, awarded Booz Allen the Nunn-Perry Award in 2005 for the success of its mentor-protégé relationship with a woman-owned, small disadvantaged information technology (IT) firm.
-
Over the past 13 years, Booz Allen has successfully mentored more than 25 protégé firms through various mentor-protégé programs.
-
We have a dedicated Alliant small business coordinator, Mark Colturi, who works closely with our small business partners to pursue opportunities and to support GSA and it clients: colturi_mark@bah.com.
-
To further assist in identifying and developing partnerships with HUBZone businesses, Booz Allen also has a dedicated HUBZone coordinator, Steve Hayes: hayes_steve@bah.com.
Booz Allen is committed to developing longstanding small business partnerships to support Alliant. Please contact us to discuss our approach to exceeding this commitment.
