It is based on the evaluation of candidate vehicles that the Government made the determination that the requirements of the MPC are beyond what is currently achievable with platforms in production. Under the MPCTD program lessons learned in the CTVTD development, test and evaluation were directly applied. The CTVTD is the USMC technology demonstrator for JLTV family of vehicles. The vehicle development effort included analysis of alternatives (AoA) and trade off studies. These AoA and trade off studies were applied to the selection power plants, power trains, suspension systems, armor protection, active protection systems, situational awareness and onboard power systems. The result of this study was used in the concept design and NATC teamed with industry for the build of the MPCTD; in addition to the design of the vehicle platform as prime contractor assuming full project management responsibility. Modeling and simulation including vehicle dynamics and blast were used in the AoA, the concept design and through out the development stages of the program. The MPCTD is entering the testing and evaluation phase of the program. Similar to what was accomplished under the CTVTD life cycle cost estimate is part of the deliverables at the completion of the MPCTD program |

Our analysis involved systems engineering examination and decomposition of C4ISR requirements from DoD and Navy documents to ensure that JCC(X) C4ISR requirements can be mapped or traced from higher to lower-level documents. The C4ISR requirements analysis supported the acquisition process by identifying gaps and/or redundancies in systems capabilities. Identified the original Aurora vulnerability. Wrote white papers to describe the effects on four case applications (Power Plant, Refinery, Industrial Pumping Plant, Wide Area). Created the test set-up , wrote test plan, simulation and executed the Aurora Test Generator assessment.
Performed detailed power system modeling and real-time digital simulations for critical DoD facilities. This work entailed writing detailed reports of protective element performance: specifically, base protection scheme operation plus Cooper iGR-933 protection for Aurora events. In addition to the modeling, R&F created .mil website information to support base personnel in understanding Aurora, and the actions necessary to remediate the Aurora vulnerability.
Create specialized test set-ups to validate transient models of differing power system arrangements.
