Preserving a Piece of Booz Allen and U.S. Navy History
Documents show how Booz Allen helped the U.S. Navy prepare for WWII.

In the 1940s, U.S. Secretary of the Navy Frank Knox approached one of Booz Allen Hamilton's founders for assistance in preparing the U.S. Navy for war. Edwin Booz assembled a team of management engineers who quickly delivered their client enduring results.

In honor of the firm's 90th anniversary celebrations, Booz Allen has made a donation to the Naval Historical Foundation that will be used to identify, document, and preserve materials in the Admiral George Preble collection of the Navy Department Library. Founded in 1800, the library contains the largest and most comprehensive collection of United States naval literature, including a piece of Booz Allen history — reports and supporting diagrams Edwin Booz delivered to his client Frank Knox in the 1940s.
