Booz Allen Supports "MIDWAY Magic" by Sponsoring Vintage Aircraft Display Aboard Historic Warship

Celebrating the firm's 90th anniversary, and in honor of the enduring legacy of the longest-serving warship, Booz Allen is donating $20,000 to the MIDWAY Museum.

San Diego, CA, May 3, 2004 — Booz Allen Hamilton announced today that the firm will donate $20,000 to the USS MIDWAY Museum to sponsor a vintage aircraft display.

"We are very excited about the museum's opening next month and we wanted to be a part of it," said Dave Karp, Booz Allen vice president. "It is important that the MIDWAY's great history of service to the country be preserved for future generations. Our San Diego staff are proud to help sustain that effort," said Karp.

Ed Brady, a principal in the firm's San Diego office, said the company allows employees to bring their own interests to the company, then puts company resources behind employees' interests. "We have many former military members on our staff, and they are very committed to supporting our armed forces," said Brady. "The MIDWAY Museum honors our veterans so we thought this would be a great way to express our support," he said.

Booz Allen's first government contract was for Secretary of the Navy Frank Knox just prior to World War II, about the same time that plans for the USS MIDWAY were being drawn up. "We have a long history of serving the Navy," said Karp, "and we felt that making a donation to the museum was also a great way for us to help celebrate our 90th anniversary year. USS MIDWAY symbolizes great endurance, and that dovetails nicely with our own celebration," said Karp.
