The transition to civilian life can be challenging for military personnel, wounded warriors, and their families, who often are moving into new neighborhoods, changing schools, and entering the civilian workforce. Booz Allen and its employees support numerous programs to help our military heroes make this transition, particularly to help them embark on new and meaningful careers.
As a company, we have sponsored and participated in forums and studies, such as “The Path to Healthy Homecomings – Findings from the Community Reintegration Summit: Service Members and Veterans Returning to Civilian Life” and “Workplace Warrior: The Corporate Response to Deployment and Reintegration,” which identify the reintegration challenges faced by military personnel following wartime service, and the strategies and resources employers can use to support them.
Booz Allen employees, many of whom served in the military, feel especially passionate about helping service members successfully make this transition. Hundreds of our employees have volunteered as mentors to recently injured service members, partnering with the Wounded Warrior Mentor Program (WWMP). This program facilitates one on one relationship between a Booz Allen employees and the wounded service members at local military medical hospitals. Booz Allen mentors counsel the recently wounded, helping them to develop a life plan, seek benefits, enroll in higher education, and other activities to prepare for the future. These relationships bridge a critical gap between the combat zone and a normalized civilian life.
These are events that Booz Allen is either sponsoring, attending, speaking or volunteering.
