Booz Allen Hamilton

Homeland Security

Helping Homeland Security Protect the Nation

By coordinating the efforts of nearly two dozen federal agencies, the Department of Homeland Security works to keep our nation safe. Booz Allen Hamilton is dedicated to supporting that mission through processes, technology, and the passion of our people.

Booz Allen’s role is to help create a shared vision across the Homeland Security enterprise—with integrated, results-based operations—so that all the component agencies can work closely together with a unified purpose and effort.

We accomplish this in the headquarters function, through support of infrastructure, human capital and management support, as well as by supporting the Homeland Security science areas, such as research and development, and health services.

Booz Allen works with Homeland Security to:

  • Create a modern, consistent information technology infrastructure for Homeland Security and its component agencies. This enhances the nation’s cyber preparedness, mitigation and recovery capabilities.
  • Develop financial management processes, tools and systems to improve fiscal performance and accountability.
  • Streamline operations and improve department-wide efficiencies to trim costs.
  • Foster closer collaboration between the component agencies—and between Homeland Security and other organizations—through enhanced strategic communications and information sharing.
  • Develop human capital across Homeland Security, through areas such as human resources and workforce support services.
  • Establish the policies, governance and programs that enable the component agencies to coordinate their missions through Homeland Security headquarters, and maintain compliance with federal rules, regulations and mandates.

At the same time, Booz Allen supports Homeland Security’s science areas, including:

  • Research and development into the state-of-the art technologies that Homeland Security uses to safeguard the nation. Booz Allen provides program management, and partners with the component agencies to understand and articulate their technology requirements.
  • Medical and health matters. Booz Allen provides program management and other services to assist Homeland Security in developing a bio-defense and health-preparedness infrastructure to ensure the security of the nation.
