Current 9-1-1 emergency communications capabilities have been surpassed by technology advances and consumer needs. To help begin the process of over-hauling the nation’s 9-1-1 systems to support new wireless and IP-based communications devices, as well as text and video messaging, Booz Allen is supporting the US Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) initiative to define the NG9-1-1 requirements and architecture, develop a nationwide transition plan, and implement a working proof-of-concept demonstration NG9-1-1 system.
